As most everyone would agree, the economy has not been the greatest in the last few years, and unfortunately most experts predict that things are not likely to improve significantly in the foreseeable future. Sadly, there are significant numbers of people who are unemployed and many others who are struggling to make ends meet. These kinds of economic conditions usually lead to a rise in theft, burglary and other crimes of opportunity, which could include mugging, theft of information or even kidnapping.

The most likely scenario however is that your home or small business could be the target of a burglar and subject to break in – that is if the property is not adequately protected with security measures and/or a decent surveillance system.

Many people, whether they live in a house, condominium, apartment or a cottage or cabin in a rural area operate a small business out of their home, and even if they don’t, most folks  set aside an area for the computer, or have a home office for record keeping in a spare room or other suitable area. You may even realize that you’re into security products because you like all the gadgets and all that protection makes you feel good – and that’s ok too. 

On the high end, you could purchase a complete, monitored home surveillance system with all kinds of security surveillance equipment like camera’s, motion sensors, hi-tech door and window locks,  as well as outdoor cameras, fancy security lighting and a monitoring system with computer automation  software and big screens to keep an eye on absolutely everything – or you might decide that some decidedly low tech solutions are better suited to your needs. Things like  good quality door locks and a window alarm or just a quality safe may be all that you need to keep the burgler out.
